Jewelery has many purposes such as embellishing an outfit, showing one's personality, making a statement, showing support and creating a mood, just to name a few. The size, design and materials are all going to affect the way the piece looks and the impression it makes. The possible choices span a wide range from chunky wooden necklaces or ruby rings to handmade Swarovski earrings or golden bangles.

Getting a completed look with any outfit is done through accessorizing. Simple touches like adding a complementary belt, scarf, hair piece, hat, gloves or even a pair of shoes, can give the ensemble the boost it needs to be perfect. With all the available options, for many the ultimate accessory for any look is jewelery that sets the mood.

These accessories are meant to be worn on practically every part of the body, including the head, ears, neck, nose, chest, wrists, fingers, ankles and toes. There are even pieces designed for specialized piercings in less mainstream places like the eyebrows and belly. Wherever one opts to wear their jewelery, the right style and design is important if one wishes to convey a particular effect.

Jewelery can be created from a variety of materials but one product is used frequently because of the big impact it makes. Made from crystals, glass, paste or plastic, rhinestones are artificial recreations of diamonds and other precious gems. They provide an affordable option for adding some color, sparkle and shine to a piece.

With each of the varied construction materials, to get the desired hue to each gem, color is added to the mix during manufacturing. Once it is decided how the piece should look, the stone must be shaped. Paste and plastic products are molded and heat pressed into the correct form but crystal and glass require more attention as their process is a bit more involved.

Though the majority of rhinestones have no light refracting qualities as real gems do, they have other advantages that make them desirable. They are easily affordable for most people and cost far less than real stones. This allows people the option of obtaining multiple pieces to build up a versatile collection to suit all their personal needs.

Those made from paste and plastic cost the least as they are mass manufactured and have the lowest quality of all the types. Glass sits in the mid range with better shine and clarity. Crystals are the most expensive as they have the most intensive creation process and have the absolute best properties and refractive capabilities that are nearly identical to real gemstones.

The best crystal rhinestones come from Austria and each one is meticulously hand cut to perfection. Their quality is impeccable and their appearance is so flawless that the average person can not easily distinguish them from the precious stones they imitate. As wonderful as they may be, they are still affordable enough for most individuals to acquire several pieces of jewelery if so desired.
