The protection that Turquoise is believed to keep the person wearing it from emotional and physical harm. It is the stones themselves are powerful. It is thought that when used with copper the stone becomes extremely powerful. A lot of the jewelry made by the Native Americans includes the powerful and beautiful stone.

Although amber is not scientifically considered a stone, it is used to make quite a lot of jewelry. By definition amber is not a gemstone but is given that classification by many people. There are a variety of uses for the material and it has gathered many different meanings. Amber is believe to have cured many illnesses including kidney problems, headache, and heart troubles. In the Middle East it is believed that amber is symbolic of courage.

Another beautifully colored stone is the Amethyst. The purple material is also used to create stunning jewelry. Amethyst was once considered to be very valuable. Because of a large find in Brazil, the stones have lost some value. This has made the jewelry crafted from them more affordable so more folks care able to purchase them.

The historical belief attached to the amethyst was that it kept folks from getting too intoxicated. The wives tale stated that folks would not get drunk if they drank alcoholic beverages from a cup made from amethyst. More commonly, it is believed the stone provides spiritual insight and promotes good behavior. In addition, it is thought that people who wear the stone are more honest and have a peaceful and quiet mind.
